Award Winning Project: Tūranga Christchurch Library

We are so proud and privileged to have been involved in the multi-award winning Tūranga Christchurch Library project!

The Property Council NZ Awards event on Friday saw the team behind the iconic new building walking away with the Warren and Mahoney Civic & Arts Property Award as well as the Rider Levett Bucknall Supreme Award!

Tūranga has been described as a “symbol of hope, unity and rebirth” as one of the nine anchor projects supporting the regeneration of Canterbury after the earthquakes, and has drawn a great deal of community pride and ownership.

Thank you to Metal Concepts for engaging our services to design the highly complex ‘veil’ screen for the new landmark building. The veil consists of perforated aluminium on an aluminium subframe that is in turn supported by the building primary structure. Modulation of the veil assemblies for ease and speed of installation was a major consideration in the design, which was developed through close collaboration between Structus and Metal Concepts.

A huge congratulations to everyone involved in such an incredible project!
