North of Auckland
Structus has been working on several projects North of Auckland over recent years. Our involvement has ranged from masterplanning advice through to full design for structural and civil engineering, seismic restraints, 3D modelling and construction monitoring.
Works undertaken in the North have included Retail, Healthcare, Aged Care and Education industry sectors.
Some of our Northern projects in construction this year include a significant healthcare facility redevelopment, supermarket renewal, new shopping centre, school classroom blocks seismic strengthening and renewal, new build school classroom blocks and a new aged care facility clubhouse. The projects are being constructed in a variety of materials and structural systems.
We have worked with great teams in both Northland and Auckland on these projects and look forward to continued work North of Auckland and throughout New Zealand.

Countdown Pioneer Highway

Construction has begun on the new Countdown supermarket and retail tenancies in Palmerston North.

This is a challenging site as the location is in a highly seismic zone with liquefiable ground and on a flood plain.  Delivered by Letica Lum and Gilbert Han, the main structure is designed to be raised above the flood plain and the loading dock slab is designed as suspended.  Foundation work has begun with our solution for the ground conditions comprising timber driven piles with RC pilecaps and ground beams, with tension anchorages embedded into some of the piles.

We are working with Watts & Hughes delivering this project for Woolworths New Zealand.

Milford Development

110 Milford Development is under Construction!
Foundations are progressing at pace for this new 6 storey residential block of high end apartments in Milford. Structus designed an innovative UC soldier pile temporary wall with road plates, that has saved space, time and cost. Another key aspect to create efficiency in the program and cost savings is an efficient raft slab foundation, instead of traditional bored piles. We are excited to see the progression of this project and looking forward to continuing to with the team on site from Waide Construction.
Structus provided full structural design and Revit documentation for this project, as well as construction monitoring services.
